Elections for fire commissioners and propositions set for Tuesday

Nine districts in both counties did not respond to requests for information on their races and ballot proposals. Here are those that did:

NASSAU COUNTY

Bellmore

Incumbent John Curley is facing a challenge from Gary Horn for a five-year term. Voting is 2-9 p.m. at 230 Pettit Ave.

Elmont

Commissioner Frank Hrbek Jr. is being challenged by Jean Duroseau for a five-year term. Voting is 12-9 p.m., 100 School Rd.

Franklin Square and Munson

Incumbent Dennis Lyons faces a challenge from Joseph Gerrato for a five-year term. Voting is 1-9 p.m. at 841 Liberty Place, Franklin Square.

Hewlett Bay

A referendum seeks approval to buy three new pumpers through a lease purchase agreement. Voting is 5-9 p.m. at 25 Franklin Ave.

Hicksville

William Blazo is running against Jason Dammes for an open seat with a five-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at the district’s two firehouses: 20 E. Marie St. and Levittown Parkway between Old Country Road and Stewart Avenue.

Inwood

Incumbent Tom Havey is facing a challenge from Anthony Rivelli for a five-year term. Voting is 6-9 p.m. at 188 Doughty Blvd.

Lakeview

A proposition seeks permission to sell an extra fire engine. Voting is 6-9 p.m. at 895 Woodfield Rd., West Hempstead.

Locust Valley

Voters will cast ballots on two propositions. One would reduce the age of eligibility for firefighters to receive pension benefits from 65 to 60. The second would allow firefighters receiving those benefits to continue serving as firefighters after the eligibility age. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 228 Buckram Rd.

Manhasset-Lakeville

Incumbent Donald T. O’Brien is facing a challenge from Steven Flynn for a three-year term. Voting is 12-9 p.m. at 35 Bayview Ave., Manhasset; 25 Prospect St., Great Neck; Northern Boulevard and Jayson Avenue, Great Neck, and 75th and Stewart avenues, New Hyde Park.

Roosevelt

Voters will cast ballots on a proposition to lower the eligibility age for firefighters receiving pension benefits from 65 to 62. Voting is 2-9 p.m. at 56 W. Centennial Ave.

South Farmingdale

John Collins and Paula Scavelli are running to complete the last two years of an unexpired term. Incumbent Thomas Mastakouris and Karen Sullivan are running for a seat with a five-year term. Voting is 4-9 p.m. at 819 Main St.

Syosset

Andrew Dick and Richard Strong are running to complete the final year of an unexpired term. Voting is 2-9 p.m. at 50 Cold Spring Rd.

SUFFOLK

Amagansett

Incumbent J. Kent Howie is facing Dwayne Denton for a five-year term. Voting is 6-9 p.m. at 439 Main St.

Blue Point

Incumbent Peter Miller and challenger Douglas Cibuls are vying for a five-year term. A proposition to lease a self-contained breathing apparatus for $280,000 is also on the ballot. Voting is 6-9 p.m. at 205 Blue Point Ave.

Brentwood

Incumbent Eric B. Raudies is challenged by Michael P. O’Malley for a seat with a five-year term. Voting is 1-9 p.m. at 125 Fourth St.

Brookhaven

Incumbent Michael Verni and challenger John Lamoreaux are vying for a five-year term. Voting is 6-9 p.m. at 2486 Montauk Hwy.

East Islip

Incumbent Thomas Drywa is opposed by Matthew Maroney for a seat with a five-year term. Jay Nieves and Eric Flynn are running for a seat with a four-year term. Leonard R. Najdek, Anthony DiSanti and Richard Fox are running for a seat with a three-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 30 E. Main St.

Eatons Neck

A referendum is on the ballot to extend the soon-to-expire local Length of Service Award Program by 10 years. Voting is 6-9 p.m. at 55 Eatons Neck Rd.

Farmingville

Alexander Wilson and Frederick Peabody are running for a seat with a five-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 780 Horseblock Rd.

Gordon Heights

Incumbent Avery Dean and challenger Willie Gadson are vying for a five-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 23 Hawkins Ave. in Medford.

Greenlawn

Residents will vote on whether to change the death benefit for the Length of Service Award Program. Voting is 6-9 p.m. at 23 Boulevard Ave.

Hagerman

Mark Palermo and Gino Cruz are vying for a seat with a five-year term. Voting is 5-9 p.m. at 510 Ralph T. Perry Dr., East Patchogue.

Holbrook

Kyle Larkin, Edward Irizarry, and former chief Richard Stack are vying for one seat with a three-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 390 Terry Blvd.

Holtsville

Incumbent Thomas Pesinkowski is being challenged by Sean Caine for a five-year term. Voting is 6-9 p.m. at 1025 Waverly Ave.

Lindenhurst Village

There is a proposition on the ballot to amend the Length of Service Award Program’s benefits and to create a contribution plan for new volunteers. Voting is 12-9 p.m. Residents south of the Long Island Rail Road must vote at 883 South Broadway. Residents north of the Long Island Rail Road must vote at 293 Buffalo Ave.

Manorville

Incumbent Thomas Campanaro and challenger Richard Kohn are vying for a five-year seat. Two propositions are on the ballot to establish a capital reserve fund to purchase and repair equipment, and to establish a reserve fund to construct, renovate and repair buildings. Voting is from 3-9 p.m. at 14 Silas Carter Rd.

Mattituck

Brian Williams and James Parsons are running for one seat with a five-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 1000 Pike St.

Medford

Incumbent Charles Jagde faces a challenge from Richard Coleman for a five-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 171 Oregon Ave.

Melville

Incumbent James T. Coschignano is being challenged by Phillip Foundos for a five-year term. Voting 1-9 p.m. at 531 Sweet Hollow Rd.

Miller Place

Commissioner Carol Hawat is opposed by challenger Guy Schneider. Voting is 4-9 p.m. at the main firehouse, 12 Miller Place Rd.

North Patchogue

Incumbent Lawrence Santangelo is being challenged by Daniel Dosher Jr. for a five-year term. Voting is 4-9 p.m. at 33 Davidson Avenue, Patchogue.

Port Jefferson

Thomas Meehan is facing Thomas Coyle for an open seat carrying a five-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 115 Maple Place.

Ridge

Incumbent Jeffrey Campo faces a challenge from Steve Vecchia for a five-year term. Voting is 12-9 p.m. at 20 Francis Mooney Drive.

Selden

Richard Cotty faces Roderick Davidson for a seat carrying a five-year term that is held by Dennis Carman, who is not seeking re-election. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 44 Woodmere Place.

Setauket

Christopher Paglia faces Dennis Mirante for a seat with a five-year term that currently is held by Paul DiBiase, who is not seeking re-election. Voters also will cast ballots on a proposition to purchase and lease $2.3 million in communications equipment over 10 years. Voting is 2-9 p.m. at Nicolls Road Firehouse, 394 Nicolls Rd., Stony Brook.

Smithtown

Former trustees Joseph M. Gardella and Michael McMahon are running for one seat with a five-year term. Voting is 4-9 p.m. at 100 Elm Ave.

St. James

Firefighters Roger Corvasce and William Theobalt are running for one seat with a five-year term. Voting is 3-9 p.m. at 221 Jefferson Ave.

Stony Brook

Incumbent Paul Degen is opposed by Ronald L. Gerry for a five-year term. Voting is 2-9 p.m.; District 1 residents vote at 147 Main St.; District 2 residents vote at 1402 Stony Brook Rd.

Terryville

Incumbent Salvatore Garafalo faces a challenge from Michael Dyroff for a five-year term. Voting is 2-9 p.m. at 19 Jayne Blvd., Port Jefferson Station.

Wading River

There are two open seats and a proposition. Incumbent John McManus faces a challenge from Tim Deveny for a five-year term. Michael Harrigan is facing ex-commissioner Randy Hintze to complete the last year of an unexpired term. The proposition would authorize $6.8 million in capital improvements to the district’s two fire stations. Voting is 2-9 p.m. at 1503 N. Country Rd.

West Babylon

Brian Hammel Sr. and John Randazzo are vying for a seat with a five-year term. There is a proposition on the ballot for the purchase and financing of Stryker stretcher equipment. Voting is 2-9 p.m. Residents living south of Sunrise Highway must vote at Station 1, 126 Arnold Ave. Those north of Sunrise vote at Station 2, 1033 Herzel Blvd.

West Sayville-Oakdale

Michael Chiesa, Diane Setter and Jeffrey Walsh are running for one seat with a five-year term. Voting is 6-9 p.m. Residents living east of the center line of Locust Avenue must vote at the headquarters station at 80 Main St., West Sayville, and those living west of the line must vote at Station 1, 1201 Montauk Hwy., Oakdale.
