While studying dance at Marymount Manhattan College, Deer Park native and 1999 graduate of Holy Trinity Diocesan High School Courtney Jordan was called “Franny Fun Facts” by her roommates – a nickname coined for Jordan’s knack for trivia.

“Whenever trivia questions would come up in conversation, I would always know the answer,” Jordan, now 33, said. “My roommates wrote my nickname on my door, on our drinking glasses, it was everywhere.”

Jordan, now a professional dancer living in Manhattan,  put her trivia knowledge to the test in her debut on Jeopardy! Monday night, and while she entered Final Jeopardy with $7,800 in the bank, she ended the show in last place after a wrong answer on the final question.

Jordan grew up watching the game show with her family and says she still watches it every night after work.

“I always shout out the answers when I watch the show,” Jordan said. “So when the test opened up to get on, I figured, why not?”

To prepare for her debut, Jordan spent hours reading history books, studying maps to brush up on her geography, and “binge watching 'The Roosevelts' on PBS,” to make sure she was prepared for whatever questions were thrown at her.

“I figured the best thing I could do was read,” Jordan said. “So I read everything I could get my hands on.”

Now that Jordan has had a taste of the game show experience, she wants to see if she could try out for a few others, too.

“It would be great if we could get the whole family together and get on Family Feud,” Jordan said, laughing.
