A Syosset man died after veering off the road and crashing into a Huntington home on Friday night, police said.

James A. Spillane, 49, was driving a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder west on Woodhull Road when he drove across a lawn and crashed into the northeast corner of the house near Hilaire Drive at 11:38 p.m., Suffolk County police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates Spillane may have suffered a medical episode before the crash, police said.

There was minor damage to the home and no injuries were reported.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
