Jocelyn Pascucci dead; Stony Brook University student dies in NYC, cops say
Police found a 19-year-old Stony Brook University student from East Meadow dead Saturday morning in the lobby of an East Village building, police said.
Jocelyn Pascucci was found unconscious about 5 a.m. inside the condominium at 125 E. 12th St. near Third Avenue, according to the NYPD. Paramedics rushed her to Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan, where she was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
The city medical examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.
Pascucci had a serious heart condition and had been drinking alcohol at area bars with friends before her death, which may have exacerbated her ailment, a police source said.
A doorman at the building on 12th Street saw her walking outside with one shoe in frigid temperatures after she got separated from her friends, and brought her inside because she looked intoxicated, the source said.
No trauma was found on her body, the source said.
