Dorothy Griffin was born Feb. 25, 1909, in Brooklyn. She graduated from St. Joseph's College for Women with a degree in mathematics. She married Matthias Griffin, now deceased, who was an FBI agent. They lived in Malverne, where they raised three children. Dorothy worked as a school librarian for many years for the East Rockaway school district. She enjoyed doing needlepoint. She lives at Atria Tanglewood in Lynbrook, where she celebrated her birthday. She is an avid reader and a fan of the Giants and Yankees. She has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
