Mineola music teacher Zachary St. John wins award

Zachary St. John, of Farmingdale, has received the Early Career Achievement Educator Award from the New York State School Music Association. St. John, who is a member of the association, has spent the past eight years working in the Mineola School District and currently serves as a band director for a jazz band and big band at Mineola Middle School. He has also served as an associate conductor with the wind symphony at LIU Post and, since 2022, has been the Nassau Music Educators Association’s Division III jazz chairman.
