Wednesday looks to be another December day of sunshine and warmer-than-normal temperatures across Long Island, the National Weather Service said.

The service’s Upton office calls for partly sunny skies and daily highs in the low 50s, about 5 degrees higher than normal for this time of year. A south wind is expected to blow from 5 to 8 mph.

News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said dry weather and above-normal temperatures continue through the weekend and into early next week.

“We will be within a few degrees of record highs Thursday to Monday,” Hoffman said.

Overnight conditions Wednesday into Thursday look to be mostly cloudy with chance of showers toward morning, Hoffman said. Overnight lows should be in the low to mid 40s.

A cloudy Thursday morning gives way to partly sunny skies with daily highs in the upper 50s, he said. Friday looks to be a repeat day, with a mix of sun and clouds and daily highs again the upper 50s.
