3 Nassau crashes involve school buses, police say
Nassau County police were at the scene of three school bus crashes within a span of an hour and 39 minutes Friday, but police said no children were injured — though three people in a private vehicle suffered minor injuries in one of the crashes.
The first crash occurred on Herricks Road at Jackson Avenue on the East Garden City-Mineola border at 7:37 a.m.
The second crash occurred on Franklin Avenue at Centre Street on the Woodmere-Hewlett border at 9:02 a.m.
The third crash occurred at the intersection of Carpenter Lane and Trapper Lane in Levittown at 9:16 a.m.
Nassau County police said there were no children on either bus involved in the first two crashes, but said there was one child and one attendant on the third bus. Neither were injured.
All of the injuries occurred in a private vehicle involved in the first bus crash, police said. None of those injuries was serious.
