Newborn found dead on Bayville beach, police say
The Nassau County police Homicide Squad is investigating after a newborn child was found dead inside a plastic bag in Ferry Beach in Bayville early Saturday.
Police said a 38-year-old man was walking his dog along Sound Beach and Bayville avenues at 4:50 a.m., when he discovered the newborn.
The gender and age of the child were not immediately determined, police said.
