Cops arrest 2 during search of Hempstead home
Police executing a search warrant Wednesday night at a home in Hempstead arrested two men -- one on a weapon charge, the other on a charge of impeding the search, police said.
Jahbar O. Colbert, 24, of 77 W. Graham St., Hempstead, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon after the search of his house by Hempstead Village police and detectives from the Nassau County Police Department's Third Squad.
Also arrested after the search at 8:05 p.m. was Tyreek Limehouse, 27, of 1561 Hempstead Tpke., Elmont.
He was charged with obstruction of governmental administration, police said.
Police said that during the search investigators recovered a loaded .44-caliber handgun from the home -- and that Colbert was arrested without incident. But, police said, Limehouse was arrested when he "attempted to impede the detectives" during their search.
Colbert was arraigned Thursday and held pending bail of $100,000 cash or $150,000 bond. Arraignment details for Limehouse was not immediately available Thursday afternoon.
