Cops: Levittown man charged with menacing Farmingdale woman
A Levittown man was arrested Sunday after he confronted a woman at her Farmingdale home in August, then broke the mirrors on her car, Nassau County police said.
Police said Gregory D. Tripp, 36, went to the front door of the woman's Carmans Road home on Aug. 21 and confronted her, yelling and pushing her into her house. Police said the two had a past friendship.
The woman was able to get Tripp to leave her house a few minutes later, but suffered a minor scrape on her arm in the process, police said.
As Tripp left, he punched and broke both side-view mirrors of the woman's 1998 BMW, police said.
The woman went to police later that day, and Tripp surrendered on Sunday, police said.
Tripp was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree menacing. He was released on his own recognizance at his arraignment on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead and is due back in court on Sept. 12.
