Three men robbed a 16-year-old boy walking along a street in Freeport Monday evening, stealing his Air Jordan sneakers and his custom trumpet, Nassau County police said.

The suspects, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, fled in a gold Ford Thunderbird, police said.

The street robbery occurred on Nassau Avenue at about 6 p.m. Monday, police said.

The suspects approached the 16-year-old; one of the men threw the teen to the ground saying he had a gun, police said.

The suspects then stole the teen's Jordans, clothes he was carrying, a Getzen trumpet and even the trumpet carrying case.

Then, police said, the suspect jumped into the gold Ford Thunderbird and drove off westbound on Cedar Street.

The suspects all wore black Northface jackets; two of them wore masks, police said.

The victim was not injured in the robbery, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the crime to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
