Cops: Probe of Facebook page finds no threat to Calhoun High

An investigation into a report Monday of suspicious activity on a Facebook page regarding Calhoun High School found no threats had been made, Nassau County police said.

Police said a call, received Monday morning, reported a complaint about "a former student making threats via Facebook" against the Merrick school.

A police spokesman said an investigation into the incident found there had been "no threats" -- and said there would be no arrests made.

A spokeswoman for the Bellmore-Merrick Central School District also said no formal threats were received, and school officials were aware of a suspicious page on a website -- and reported it to police.

Officials have not said why the page was considered suspicious. The incident does not appear to involve current students at the school.

A statement released on behalf of the district Monday said: "No threats have been made to any student or any building facility at Calhoun High School. The school district took proactive measures by reaching out to the Nassau County Police Department and requesting they monitor a suspicious Facebook page. The district continues to take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the district students and personnel. The school district is proceeding normally and there are no interruptions to the school day."
