Cops probe Syosset bank robbery
Detectives are investigating the Monday afternoon robbery of a Syosset bank, pulled off by a man who displayed "what appeared to be the butt of a handgun," police said.
The robbery occurred at 2:10 p.m. at the Bank of America, 378 Jericho Tpke., Nassau County police said.
The robber was described as about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, in his mid 40s, wearing jeans, a blue jacket, a brown hooded sweatshirt and a "dark winter cap," police said.
He approached a teller and made a verbal demand while displaying the apparent butt of a handgun, police said.
He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The 10 workers and four customers in the bank at the time were not injured, police said.
