Two people were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-car crash on the Southern State Parkway near Exit 14 that closed all westbound traffic, police said.
The vehicles collided and flipped over just west of Exit 14, which is in North Valley Stream, New York State Police Trooper Richard Gantt said. State police received a call about the accident shortly before 1 p.m., he said.
Two people involved in the crash were taken to area hospitals, according to Trooper David Augugliaro, who said he did not know the severity of any injuries they sustained.
The wreck closed the three westbound lanes until it was cleared at 3:30 p.m., Augugliaro said.
