Two Roosevelt men were arrested before dawn Sunday after they were spotted in a car speeding through Hempstead with its headlights off, police said.
Police conducted a traffic stop of the tan-colored Honda Accord at Greenwich and Ann streets at 5:18 a.m. and smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the car, Nassau County police said.
The driver, David J. Solomon, 31, of 46 Catlin Ave., was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license, and was given two traffic citations, police said.
A passenger in the back seat, Phillip Sanders, 37, of 151A Hudson Ave., was arrested on a weapons charge after a loaded firearm was found on the rear seat, police said.
