A Brooklyn man has been charged with using counterfeit bills at a J.C. Penney in Westbury last November, Nassau police said.

Police said Devon D. Jackson, 22, went into the J.C. Penney at 630 Old Country Rd. on Nov. 25, 2014, and bought a Dyson vacuum for $434.49 using counterfeit $100 bills. The next day, Jackson went back to the department store and returned the vacuum for a cash refund, police said.

Police said Jackson turned himself in to detectives in Westbury yesterday morning.

Jackson, of Hancock Street in Bushwick, is charged with first-degree forgery and five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument. He was given a conditional release to probation at his arraignment in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday, according to court records.
