To allow for preliminary entrance ramp extension work, one westbound lane of the Northern State Parkway near Shelter Rock Road, Exit 35, in North Hills, will be closed overnight Sundays through Thursdays for about a month, said the state Department of Transportation.

The lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, for the placement of concrete barriers, behind which construction is to take place, the DOT said.

This is one of 19 locations that will be improved under the department's $4-million motorist improvement project.
