Police: Woman stole sneakers, belt from acquaintance in Massapequa
An Elmont woman was arrested and charged with robbery after she stole designer sneakers and a designer belt from an acquaintance Wednesday in Massapequa, Nassau County police said.
Felicia Ahmed, 18, of 1679 Rosalind Ave., was arrested after being found Thursday at Elmont High School. She was charged with second-degree robbery -- and now faces arraignment Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
Police said the female victim "was known" to Ahmed and that the two met at "a prearranged location" in Massapequa, where the robbery took place Thursday at 5:43 p.m. Police did not specify the robbery location.
Police said that the victim arranged to sell the belt and sneakers to Ahmed, who arrived in a vehicle driven by "an unknown male." It was not clear if the driver was also being sought by police.
Police said the victim had handed the belt to Ahmed and placed the sneakers on the car when Ahmed "shoved the victim to the ground" and fled in the car with both items.
The value of the items was unknown.
