Cops investigate death of man found on beach near Long Beach boardwalk
Long Beach police are investigating the death of a man found Tuesday morning on the beach near the boardwalk off National Boulevard, officials said.
A police spokesman, Lt. Eric Cregeen, said a passerby found the body along the Atlantic Ocean shoreline -- and reported it to police at 6:53 a.m.
Police said the body was that of a man in his 60s. Police did not release his identity pending notification of next of kin.
The man's car was found nearby, police said.
Police said initial indications are the death is not suspicious, and the cause will be determined by the medical examiner.
