A small fire at the 615-room Marriott hotel in Uniondale was contained Sunday evening.

Police responded to the fire at about 5 p.m.

The fire did not appear to be serious and there were no reported injuries, according to a police spokesman.

A hotel spokeswoman said in an email: "It was small and taken care of. No one was affected."

The Uniondale Fire Department did not respond to requests for comment.
