A 44-year-old man died Sunday after rescuers found him floating face down at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Park pool.

Nassau police said the man was swimming in the main pool about 1:25 p.m. when, "a short time later," his body was found floating face down.

Lifeguards pulled the man from the pool and performed CPR. He was then transported to Syosset Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police officials are not identifying the man until his family is notified.
