A man who threw a beer bottle at another man, cutting his forearm, in a Westbury bar Monday faces an assault charge, Nassau County police said.

Saul Carbajal, 24, of 18 Barrington St., Westbury, is charged with assault and possession of a dangerous weapon and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Carbajal was in the La Casa Del Marisco bar, at 795 Old Country Rd., when he became involved in a verbal altercation with another man at 3:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

Carbajal threw the bottle at the man, and the bottle shattered and cut the victim's forearm, police said.

Carbajal fled on foot, running west on Old Country Road, police said.

The injured man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

After investigating the incident, police said they found Carbajal and arrested him early Monday.
