Nassau County executive candidate Adam Haber in a new TV campaign ad takes aim at the eight-year record of primary challenger and former County Executive Thomas Suozzi, while presenting Haber as a "fresh face."

The 30-second spot, Haber's third of the campaign, began airing Wednesday on cable TV and is the first in a series of new ads the campaign plans to air before the Sept. 10 Democratic primary, spokesman Galen Alexander said.

"I'm voting for Adam because he's not a politician," one supporter named Terri states in the ad. Says Leslie: "I think Tom Suozzi looks out for himself, I don't think he looks out for regular people." "Tom Suozzi had his chance and he did not do anything for Nassau County," says another supporter, Monique.

Suozzi campaign spokesman Danny Kazin declined to comment.

Haber is a Roslyn school board member and East Hills businessman who is largely self-funding his campaign. This is his first attempt at countywide office.

Suozzi has released one TV ad to date that still is airing. The spot makes no mention of Haber and instead criticizes Republican County Executive Edward Mangano, whom Suozzi hopes to face in the November general election.

Alexander declined to disclose the cost of the Haber campaign, but said it was in the "six figures."
