Official: Roosevelt student attacks teacher
A student at a Roosevelt school attacked a teacher Wednesday afternoon and made a threat against the school, according to the district superintendent.
Neither the school nor the police would reveal the student's age, gender or grade. They would not elaborate on the nature or severity of the attack.
Police said the case is being investigated.
Superintendent Robert Wayne Harris said in an email, "The matter was addressed in accordance with our District Code of Conduct" and other safety procedures.
He said "students and staff members are safe and the school day was not interrupted."
It was not immediately clear at which school in the district the assault happened.
District officials are looking into the case and acknowledged that police were searching for the student.
A police spokeswoman said she did not know if the student had been located.
