Bartender charged in theft of $15G from Massapequa restaurant, police say
A bartender was arrested after stealing more than $15,000 over four months from his employer, Nassau County police said.
George Katsihtis, 33, took cash from the register at Smuggler Jack's Restaurant and Bar in Massapequa between June and October, police said.
In the complaint filed against him, police said Katsihtis admitted to taking the money. Other evidence includes video and business records, the complaint said.
Katsihtis, of 2323 Neptune Ave., was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of third-degree larceny at First District Court in Hempstead.
Bail was set at $2,000 bond or $1,000 cash. Katsihtis was represented by Legal Aid, which does not comment on cases.
