Nassau County police have charged a man with drunken driving after his vehicle hit a pedestrian on Nassau Road in Uniondale early Saturday.

The male victim, who has not been identified by police, was struck near the intersection of Nassau Road and Northern Parkway at 12:50 a.m.

The victim is in serious condition at a hospital, according to a police spokeswoman.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, has been charged with DWI, police said.
