It's Long Island Marathon Weekend, with events kicking off as early as Friday, culminating in Sunday's 10k, half-marathon and full 26.2-mile affair. Credit: Patrick E. McCarthy

Numerous roads in Nassau County will be closed for this weekend's Long Island Marathon, police said.

Nassau County police said all road closures are ultimately decided by the department, adding, "Roads may be closed earlier, may remain closed longer, or may reopen sooner than the times posted."

For Saturday's races,

which begin at 8 a.m. and

8:30 a.m., closures include:

Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, 7:30 to 10 a.m. (from Merrick Avenue to Earle Ovington Boulevard, 8 to 10 a.m.)

Earle Ovington Boulevard, 8 to 10 a.m.

Quentin Roosevelt Boulevard, south of Commercial Avenue, 7:30 to 10 a.m.

Other closures: Meadowbrook State Parkway exits and entrances to and from Charles Lindbergh Boulevard (Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College) and Eisenhower Park exits, from 7:45 to 10 a.m.

For Sunday's races, starting at 8 a.m., closures include:

Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, 5 to 10 a.m. (from Merrick Avenue to Earle Ovington Boulevard, 7:15 to 10 a.m.)

Merrick Avenue, north of Hempstead Turnpike, 7:30 to 10 a.m.

Old Country Road, from Post Avenue to School Street, 7:40 to 10 a.m.

School Street, from Old Country Road to Railroad Avenue, 7 to 10 a.m.

Salisbury Park Drive, 7:50 to 10:30 a.m.

Railroad Avenue, 7:50 to 10 a.m.

Post Avenue, from Railroad Avenue to Jericho Turnpike, 7:50 to 10:30 a.m.

Jericho Turnpike, from Post Avenue to Brush Hollow Road, 7:50 to 11 a.m.

Brush Hollow Road, 7:50 to 11:30 a.m.

Carman Avenue, from Old Country Road to Nottingham Road, 7:50 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wantagh State Parkway, 7:50 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Other closures include:

Northern State Parkway exits to Post Avenue and Wantagh Parkway; all exits and entrances to and from Wantagh Parkway; Meadowbrook Parkway exits and entrances to and from Charles Lindbergh Boulevard (Nassau Coliseum, Nassau Community College) and Eisenhower Park exits, from 5 to 10 a.m.

Eisenhower Park's Park Boulevard, from 7:15 to 10 a.m. The Hempstead Turnpike park entrance will be open throughout the day for golf and Carltun guests, with a turnaround at the golf course until 10 a.m.

Police said westbound Jericho Turnpike and Brush Hollow Road, south of the Wantagh Parkway, will stay open.
