Man dies in Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway crash, Nassau police say
A man died in a crash on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway in Woodbury on Wednesday night, police said.
Kenneth Glover, 29, of Brookhaven, was driving a 2003 Ford Escape south on Route 135 at Exit 13 when the sport utility vehicle "veered off the roadway and rolled over multiple times," Nassau County police detectives said in a news release Thursday. Glover was ejected and fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male passenger, 29, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was transported to a hospital for evaluation, police said.
A police spokesman said the 5:23 p.m. crash led to the closure of all southbound lanes of Route 135 at Exit 13, near the Long Island Expressway. The lanes were reopened about 11:30 p.m., he said.
Four units of the Syosset Fire Department responded, said Jack Lord, communications supervisor for the department. Lord referred questions about the crash to Nassau police.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
