Shooter sought after Freeport shots detected
Freeport police are searching for a gunman who fired five shots in a Freeport neighborhood early Friday.
Police said officers responding to a "Shot Spotter" activation discovered five shell casings in front of an address on Union Street at 1 a.m.
No injuries were reported.
Nassau County police are asking that anyone with information regarding the incident call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
