Sunrise Highway in Freeport has reopened Saturday after it was closed for hours due to a gas main break, Freeport police said.

It's not clear what time the roadway reopened, but Nassau County's traffic management unit tweeted shortly before 5:15 p.m. that the blocked eastbound lanes had been cleared.

The closure was between Brookside and South Bayview Avenues, Nassau County police said in a news release.
