A suspect wanted in the shooting of another man outside a Glen Cove private club 17 months ago has been charged with attempted murder, Glen Cove police said.

John Lembo, 47, was arrested Wednesday in Brooklyn on two counts of second-degree murder, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree criminal use of a firearm, said Det. Lt. John Nagle of the Glen Cove Police Department.

Lembo was ordered held on $105,000 cash bond at his arraignment Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said Lembo allegedly fired multiple shots at two men outside the club at 248 Glen St., striking one man -- Ledio Spahija, 26, of Glen Cove -- in the neck.

Lembo "left the area immediately after the incident and could not be located," Nagle said.

Glen Cove Det. Chris Albin investigated the case with the New York/New Jersey U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, finally tracking down Lembo in Brooklyn, police said.
