Sunrise Highway reopens after accident with one serious injury, cops say
A two-vehicle accident with serious injury closed all westbound lanes and two eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway in Massapequa for several hours early Tuesday, Nassau County police said.
One person was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injury, said a police spokeswoman. She had no other details.
The accident happened on westbound Sunrise Highway, between Broadway and Route 107, around 4:45 a.m., police said,
Police also said they closed the two eastbound lanes for their accident investigation.
Both roadways were fully reopened about 9 a.m., according to informny.com, the state Department of Transportation website.
