Oheka Castle shooting: Key people and places
Gary Melius, a major political fundraiser and owner of Oheka Castle in Huntington, was shot in the head on the grounds of the estate-turned-wedding-venue on Feb. 24, 2014 by a masked gunman, Suffolk police said.
Despite being shot in the head, Melius recovered during the months after the shooting, while the case remained unsolved six months later.
