BACKGROUND
- Keiserman, 53, of Port Washington, is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election. This is her first bid for public office.
- She is a former president of the Port Washington Democratic Club and is a board member of the North Hempstead Housing Authority.
- Keiserman holds a bachelor’s degree in government and a master’s degree in education for secondary social studies, both from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
ISSUES
- Keiserman said she supports law enforcement funding and said making sure that Nassau enforces red flag laws is a priority, as well as stopping County Executive Bruce Blakeman’s special deputies program.
- She said she supports reproductive rights and the New York Equal Rights Amendment ballot proposition that expands the state’s constitution to bar discrimination over gender identity and pregnancy outcomes.
- Keiserman also said that if elected she would fight against any cuts to schools in her district and oppose congestion pricing.
