Southampton police are investigating an emailed bomb threat made Thursday against the Southampton Town Justice Court.

At 7:52 a.m., police were notified the court received emails about a bomb threat. A check of the court building and surrounding area conducted by town patrol officers, fire marshals and court officers found nothing suspicious.

A state police K-9 unit also inspected the property and building and found no threat.

A preliminary forensic investigation determined the email may have originated from abroad and has no credible link to the justice court.

Police said the investigation was ongoing.
