Beaumont, 48, of North Babylon, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Her husband, Paul Beaumont, 53, who was a passenger, was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai, Joseph Echel, 19, of Deer Park, was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
