A four-vehicle crash in Commack left a Brentwood man seriously injured and traffic snarled for several hours Saturday afternoon.

Suffolk County police say a woman was driving a Buick Regal west on Veterans Memorial Highway when she attempted to make a right turn onto Jericho Turnpike around 2:25 p.m. She struck a Nissan Rogue traveling east on Jericho Turnpike, police said.

The Nissan, driven by Freddy Roth, flipped on its side and slid into the rear of a pickup truck, which was stopped in the eastbound turning lane of Jericho Turnpike, police said. The pickup truck then struck the rear of a Honda.

Roth, 25, was airlifted by a Suffolk County police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. No others involved in the crash were injured, police said.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call investigators at 631-854-8452.
