A Southampton man was arrested Saturday night after he assaulted another man with a baseball bat, State Police said.

Isidro De Leon Galindo, 22, approached a 29-year-old man from behind in the parking lot of the Valero gas station on State Route 24-Flanders Road at about 7:50 p.m., police said. De Leon Galindo, who was in the midst of a "long disagreement" with the man, produced a baseball bat and struck him, leaving the victim with lacerations and swelling on his face, police said.

The victim was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center.

De Leon Galindo was arrested and charged with second-degree assault. He is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at Southampton Town Court.
