A 12-year-old-boy nearly drowned at West Neck Beach on Sunday night before he was pulled out of the water by a relative, officials said.

A Town of Huntington lifeguard, Connor Donovan, 19, and a nurse from Huntington who was at the Lloyd Harbor beach, Denise McKay, helped to stabilize the boy after he was rescued, Suffolk police officials said

Police and fire officials responded to a 911 call at 6:37 p.m. Sunday night. An officer with the Second Precinct and a firefighter with the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department also assisted in first-aid efforts, before the boy was placed in an ambulance and taken to Huntington Hospital. He is listed in stable condition, officials said.
