Cops: Driver with previous offenses sped in school zone
An East Patchogue man who was speeding in a school zone in Bellport Thursday had his license suspended or revoked 30 times, Suffolk County police said.
Police arrested Eric Mann, 41, on a felony charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and also issued him a speeding ticket.
He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip.
Officer Luis Bustamante of the Motor Carrier Section was enforcing speed control in school zones at about 8:30 a.m. when Mann drove a 1998 Jeep at a high rate of speed, police said.
Mann was stopped and further investigation uncovered his previous suspensions and revocations, police said.
