Cops: Sex offender hid camera in models' dressing room
A registered sex offender who was photographing swimsuit models at a fashion show used a hidden video camera in their dressing room, Southampton Village Police said Thursday.
Police arrested Robert L. Liguori, 51, of Mastic Beach, Tuesday on four counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance, a felony, and three counts of attempted surveillance, Det. Sgt. Herman Lamison said in a news release.
He is being held at the Suffolk County jail in Riverhead on a bail of $32,000, police said.
On July 12, police said, Liguori, a self-described artist and photographer, photographed the models at an Elm Street, Southampton, address.
"Mr. Liguori is alleged to have placed a live video camera in the female dressing room where the female swimsuit models were to disrobe," Lamison said in the release.
According to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Liguori is registered as a level 2 sex offender and was convicted in 2000 of disseminating indecent material to a minor.
