A high school senior was hit by a car early Wednesday afternoon as he crossed the street in front of his school in West Babylon, Suffolk police said.

Job Giuliani, 17, was walking east as he crossed Great East Neck Road, by West Babylon Senior High School, when he was hit by a Honda Civic going south about 1:23 p.m., police said.

The West Babylon teenager was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, where he was in critical condition with head injuries, police said.

The driver, Matthew Stein, 22, of West Babylon, was treated at the hospital and released, police said.

There appears to be no criminality in the accident, police said, and Stein's Honda was impounded for safety checks.

Police urge anyone with information about the accident to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
