A woman was killed in a one-car accident early Thursday on Route 111 in Eastport, Suffolk County police said.

Police identified the driver as Heather Petrie, 40, of Eastport. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Petrie was traveling south on Route 111 when her vehicle flipped in the median on the roadway, just north of County Road 51, at about 7:45 a.m., police said. It was not known if Petrie was wearing a seatbelt.
