Motorcyclist dies after crashing into Jeep in Coram, police say
A motorcyclist is dead after he crashed into another vehicle in Coram on Wednesday evening, Suffolk County police said.
Around 8:25 p.m., a man was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson eastbound on Route 25 when he crashed into a 2021 Jeep Cherokee traveling west as it was turning left at the intersection of County Road 83.
The motorcyclist, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The 26-year-old driver of the Jeep was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
