A 37-year-old man was critically injured after his vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned in Blue Point on Sunday, Suffolk police said.

At about 9 p.m., the man was eastbound in a 2021 Jeep Wrangler on Montauk Highway when the vehicle veered off the roadway, jumped a curb at Division Avenue and struck a utility pole, overturning multiple times, police said.

The man, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.
