Driver injured in Melville overturn crash, officials say
A woman was taken to Huntington Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after her sport utility vehicle overturned Wednesday night on Half Hollow Road in Melville, fire officials said.
The one-car accident occurred near Blossom Street just after 11 p.m., according to Suffolk County police.
Police and firefighters from the Melville Fire Department responded to the scene, and police said the road was briefly closed.
Firefighters used heavy rescue tools to remove the windshield of the Honda SUV under the direction of Assistant Chief David Kaplan, extricating the driver, whose name was not released. The woman was then transported to the hospital by the Melville Rescue Squad, officials said.
