A dump truck struck a Long Island Rail Road bridge Wednesday afternoon in Lindenhurst, Suffolk County police said.

The driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with minor injuries, police said. The call came in at 1:51 p.m.

There was "no significant damage to the bridge abutments," a spokesman for the LIRR said. The accident happened at West Hoffman and Strong avenues.

The railroad reported on its website that several trains were running 10 to 15 minutes late "due to a truck striking" a bridge east of the Copiague station.
