Two people died and four others were injured in an early morning crash Saturday in West Babylon, Suffolk police said. Credit: Paul Mazza

A car crash in West Babylon left two people dead and four others seriously injured early Saturday, Suffolk County police said.

The two-car crash took place at an intersection after 1 a.m. 

One vehicle was traveling south on Great East Neck Road and the other car was heading east on Railroad Avenue when they collided, police said. 

The driver and sole occupant of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person, who was inside a car carrying four other people, later died at a hospital.  

Four people were taken to hospitals, all with serious injuries, police said.
