Huntington Station fire at Four-Way Pallet Corp.: Firefighters battle blaze for hours
Firefighters battled a blaze at a Huntington Station commercial property for several hours Friday morning.
Around 1:09 a.m., officials were alerted about a fire at Four-Way Pallet Corp., at 191 East 2nd St.
Multiple fire departments and Suffolk County police responded to the scene.
The building contained a large amount of wooden pallets, which kept the blaze burning for hours before it was brought under control around 9:45 a.m, according to Suffolk fire officials.
Firefighters were still on the scene late Monday morning performing overhaul and searching for hot spots amid the debris.
The MTA closed the Port Jefferson LIRR line between the Port Jefferson and Huntington Station, where the tracks pass behind the building, but have since reopened the area with restricted speed for trains.
